Ingredients
  

  • 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour 320 g
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter melted (2 1/2 sticks / 285 g)
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar 150 g
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar 100 g
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips 170 g
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped chocolate wafers discs, or chocolate bar, preferably 70% cacao or higher (120 g)

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter with the granulated sugar.
  4. Add the brown sugar and mix until smooth.
  5. Add the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
  6. Add the dry ingredients and stir until a thick cookie dough forms.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped chocolate.
  8. Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers still look slightly soft.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
