A refreshing non-alcoholic watermelon mojito made with fresh watermelon, mint, lime, sugar, and fizzy Sprite or sparkling water.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups diced seedless watermelon 450 g, chilled
  • 1 lime sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice 15 ml
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 12 g
  • 1 1/2 cups Sprite or lemon-lime soda 360 ml, chilled
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 small pinch salt optional

  • Muddler or wooden spoon
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring spoons

Method
 

  1. Cut the watermelon into small cubes and remove any visible black seeds.
  2. Divide watermelon, mint leaves, lime juice, lime slices, and sugar between two tall glasses.
  3. Gently muddle the ingredients using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon.
  4. Fill both glasses with ice cubes.
  5. Pour chilled Sprite or sparkling water over the ice.
  6. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves.
  7. Garnish with fresh mint, watermelon cubes, and lime slices.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use Sprite for a sweeter drink.
  • For a lighter version, use sparkling water or club soda and add an extra teaspoon of sugar if needed.
